Open the .raw file. The file for Savage is named nMACHO0.raw and is located in the /Wrestler folder in your WCW Nitro PC directory. The file should be opened with the following properties:

Width: 256 Height: 512
Three channel (RGB)
Interleaved
Order (BGR)
Flipped (bottom up)

For rings its:

Width: 256 Height: 1792
Three channel (RGB)
Interleaved
Order (BGR)
Flipped (bottom up)

NOTE: Generally, smaller wrestlers are opened at a size of 256 X 256, while larger wrestlers are opened at 256 X 512. However, I open all wrestlers, regardless of size, at 256 X 512. Just a matter of personal preference.

You will see the above dialog box twice - once for the preview and again to open the actual file. Select OK to open the file

As you can see, by opening the file in BGR order, the blocks are in the colors that will appear in the game. If you open the file in RGB order, the blocks are blue.

In the .raw file, each block represents a different portion of the character skin. This pattern is different for each skin. I have mapped out the block order for Randy Savage (nMACHO0.raw) below:

To assist in mapping out the blocks, it is sometimes necessary to mark the .raw file. For example, the forehead, back of head, and top of head all look similar. In order to differentiate which was which, I would mark the squares one-at-a-time with a green “X”, save the file, and start WCW Nitro. I can then select Savage and see where the green X appears.
